From a small start-up to a UK leading storage solution specialist
At UK Shelving, we’ve come a long way – but our mission has stayed the same: to provide high-quality shelving, racking and storage solutions at unbeatable prices, backed by friendly and expert service. Here’s a closer look at our journey to get here:
UK Shelving Founded (1995)
UK Shelving was founded with a clear goal to make commercial-grade storage solutions easier to access for businesses of all sizes. The business started out as a group of colleagues from a local garden centre, we understood the gap in the market for quick and affordable storage solutions and set out to change the way the UK buys shelving.
First Home for UK Shelving(1998)
The business was quickly growing and moved into a premises on Canvey Island in Essex. The business was now working with warehouses, retail outlets, tradespeople and homeowners alike. To meet the growing demand, we expanded our product range significantly. From garage shelving and archive units to heavy-duty pallet racking, storage bins, and accessories.
First Online Store Launched (2006)
We posted out our last brochure and became fully digital, there has been no looking back. We launched our first online store to simplify the buying process. With a carefully curated product range and a user-friendly layout, customers could browse and buy 24/7 – and our reputation began to grow.
Bespoke Solutions Become Normal (2011)
With 15 years of experience under our belt we started to design bespoke solutions using our in-house computer aided design (CAD) tool. We started designing and installing drive in pallet racking, drive in racking, live pallet racking, push back racking, mezzanine floors and more.
20 Year Anniversary (2015)
In 2015 we celebrated our 20-year anniversary. Uk Shelving was going from strength to strength as we continued to expand our product offering to try and become the 1 stop shop for all warehouse storage solutions.
Upgrading Our Warehouse (2019)
We outgrew our home of 21 years to move into a brand-new custom-built warehouse. The warehouse is a prime example of how to store goods efficiently and we to this day are proud to show potential clients what can be achieved.
Where we are today (2025)
This year we will be celebrating 30 years. Our combination of product quality, reliable delivery, and hands-on service helped solidify our reputation as one of the UK’s fastest-growing storage specialists. We continued to invest in new technology, smarter logistics, and an even broader product catalogue.
