What is pallet racking? +
Pallet racking is a heavy-duty storage system made up of upright frames and horizontal beams, designed to hold palletised goods securely. They are commonly used in warehouses and industrial units where forklifts are used to load and unload stock.
What’s the difference between pallet racking and shelving? +
Pallet racking is designed specifically for storing goods on pallets and is typically accessed using forklifts. It supports significantly heavier loads and is built for larger storage environments. Shelving, on the other hand, is generally intended for lighter items and is usually accessed manually.
How long do pallet racks last?+
Our racks have been designed with longevity in mind. We only use premium materials, including high-quality steel with luxury finishes, in the build of our racking units. This allows them support heavy loads for over 20 years (if properly treated). It is recommended that you have an annual inspection of your units (which can be undertaken by UK Shelving) to ensure they meet the required standards. 
How much weight do your pallet racks hold? +
At UK Shelving, our pallet racks can support up to 11,500kg per bay and 3300kg per level UDL, however, weight limits depend on the specific beam and frame configuration selected, so please check our product datasheets.
