About the project
Modify existing shelving to create a multi-tier shelving system to increase storage capacity.

The Challenge
The client needed to significantly increase their storage capacity within their existing warehouse footprint.
The challenge was to utilise unused vertical space while maintaining safe access, efficient workflow and minimal disruption to ongoing operations. The solution also needed to integrate with existing shelving, staircases and access points, while allowing staff to move freely between levels.
The Solution
We modified and extended the existing longspan shelving system to create a multi-tier storage structure with additional floor levels, walkways and stair access.
The project was delivered in stages, with shelving height extensions, new bays and additional storage levels added over time. Walk-through access points, wide aisles and bridge walkways were incorporated to ensure smooth movement throughout the space, while adapted staircases and support structures allowed safe access to upper levels.
The result was a fully integrated, multi-level storage system tailored to the building and the client’s operational needs.

The OUTCOME
Maximised vertical space
The multi-tier design allowed Digiflex to make full use of the warehouse height, significantly increasing storage capacity without expanding the building footprint.
Improved access and workflow
Integrated staircases, walkways and bridge access made it easy for staff to move safely between levels and access all storage areas efficiently.
Scalable, long-term solution
By extending and adapting the existing system, the installation provided a flexible and future-proof storage solution that could continue to grow alongside the business.

The new multi-tier system has transformed how we use our space and given us the extra storage we needed without moving premises.
