Assembly is quick and easy – the boltless design and pre-assembled frames with feet mean you simply slot in the beams, secure them with safety locking pins, and drop in the galvanised trays. Shelf levels are adjustable in 50mm increments, allowing you to configure the bay to fit different product sizes. The system can also span over ground-stored goods, including pallets, so a bottom shelf is not always necessary.

Each bay delivers up to 4000kg total capacity, with shelves rated at 800kg UDL. The galvanised trays offer a corrosion-resistant, easy-to-clean surface, making them perfect for food, pharmaceutical, and cold storage applications.

Manufactured with over 60 years of experience and tested to FEM standards, the Mecalux longspan system guarantees safety, durability, and long-term performance. Extension bays, accessories, and bespoke configurations are available to expand your storage capacity as required.

The extension bay with galvanised trays is designed to connect directly to a starter bay, providing a strong and hygienic storage solution for demanding environments. Built for hand-loaded storage, it is ideal for bulky items, cartons, and boxes, and is especially suited to freezer rooms, cold stores, and areas where moisture and low temperatures can affect chipboard shelving.
